Our friends at Reason.TV interview IER Senior Fellow Robert Micheals on renewables and renewable subsidies.
One small correction. The narrator states, “as a nation, we currently get less than three percent of our electricity from renewable sources.” This is incorrect. The narrator is omitting hydropower and possibly biomass. According to the Energy Information Administration, hydroelectric power produces 6.9 percent of our electricity and biomass produces 1.4 percent. By comparison, wind produces 1.8 percent of our electricity and solar produces a meager 0.02 percent.
